Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley (1865-1931) attracted world wide attention in 1885 by photographing a single snow crystal (what is commonly call a snowflake). He went on to photograph over 5000 snow crystals in his life time! "Snowflakes are miracles of beauty:and it seems a shame that this beauty should not be seen and appreciated by others".
